Square Enix’s Manga UP! will end sooncha’s Yang Can’t Live Alone with Chapter 15-3 on August 13. The publisher attributed the cancellation to shortcomings in the assigned editor’s handling of the serialization and promotional work, which damaged its relationship with the creator. Manga UP! said changing the editor did not restore that trust, leading both sides to agree to end the series.


Sooncha separately said the cancellation resulted from a breakdown in trust with Manga UP! and that discussions are underway to recover the rights to the work. Regaining those rights could allow the creator to seek another publisher and continue the story elsewhere, but no continuation has been confirmed.


The third collected volume is still scheduled for August 6 because its print and digital release could not be stopped in time. Square Enix will announce later when existing chapters will leave Manga UP! and when the digital volumes will no longer be distributed.

Shō Aimoto’s supernatural mystery manga Kemono Jihen will conclude with its upcoming 26th collected volume. The announcement appeared in volume 25, which was released in Japan on August 4, although Shueisha has not yet announced a publication date for the final book.


Kemono Jihen began serialization in Shueisha’s Jump SQ. magazine in December 2016, giving the series a run of nearly 10 years. The story follows occult detective Kohachi Inugami and Kabane, a supernatural boy he encounters while investigating unexplained animal deaths in a rural village.


The manga also inspired a 12-episode television anime that aired in 2021. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the series in English and has scheduled releases through volume 24, meaning English-language readers will have to wait longer to reach the conclusion.

Koei Tecmo will release Attack on Titan 3 on December 10, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Developed by Omega Force, the single-player action game will let players create a new Scout Regiment member and experience events spanning Hajime Isayama’s story from its opening chapters through the conclusion.


Alongside returning omni-directional mobility combat, the game will introduce more dangerous Titan behaviors, scouting missions outside the Walls, base construction, squad management, and new character interactions at regimental headquarters. Koei Tecmo also says the game will include previously untold stories alongside the franchise’s established cast.


The game will feature Japanese audio and text support in Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, French, Italian, German, and Spanish. The Steam edition will be digital-only, while physical and digital editions are planned for the console versions.

Firefly Wedding will premiere on Japan’s Fuji TV network during the Noitamina programming block on October 9 at 11:30 p.m. Crunchyroll has also acquired the historical romance anime for streaming outside Japan, although the platform has not confirmed whether international episodes will arrive at the same time as the Japanese broadcast.


The latest teaser introduces two additional cast members: Kento Ito as Satoko’s childhood friend and bodyguard Kotaro Ogawa, and Kenjiro Tsuda as Saegusa, a yakuza member involved in her abduction. The video also previews “Yumegokochi,” the ending theme written and performed by TOOBOE.


Produced by David Production, the series adapts Oreco Tachibana’s manga about the gravely ill noblewoman Satoko Kirigaya and Shinpei Goto, an assassin whose assignment changes after she proposes a marriage of convenience. Lynn and Koki Uchiyama lead the cast as Satoko and Shinpei, while VIZ Media publishes the original manga in English.

Free Fire Daybreak, an anime adaptation of Garena’s mobile battle royale game Free Fire, will premiere in spring 2027. Co-produced through a joint investment by Garena and KADOKAWA, the series is planned to air and stream worldwide, including in Japan, bringing the game’s characters and setting to viewers beyond its established mobile audience.


The story follows 16-year-old Kelly in the near-future city of New Dawn, where she becomes caught up in the Horizon Corporation’s experimental Project Bloom. After awakening an ability called “Limit Break,” she joins new allies to investigate the corporation and recover fragments of her past. Kelly appears alongside familiar Free Fire characters Hayato and Moco in the newly released key visual and promotional trailer.


CANDYBOX is producing the anime, with Ken Takahashi directing, Hotaru Asafuji handling series composition and screenplay, and Kouji Fujimoto composing the music. The international production and distribution plans position Daybreak as a major effort to expand Free Fire from a mobile game into a broader entertainment franchise.
